We got almost late for the class, cos Leonard was busy since morning for the renovation of our new place. While i wake up late cos i was too tired from last nite movie. Reach the hospital, to see my frend Berlinda is not attending the class today, we sat on our own.
today's lesson is about parentcraft, let hubby understand how a preggy suffer things from heartburn to morning sickness. Next, the nurse show us samples on how dilate the vaginal need to be (10cm) upon delivery of the child. Its really amazing, to see how spread out can our skin be. that somehow freak me out a lill, however it does also makes me feel how wonderful a mother will do for their child.
It also teaches us how to know whether you're ready for labour. Different description on contractions and signs like water breaking or spotting. Next it introduce us different modes of pain killer for the labour, and i've reconfirm not to take epidural for the birth. Since the medicine will only last 2-3hours while the normal med will last 1-2hours.
Lastly, before the class end, it shows us a clip of birth thru vaginal with baby having their cord around the neck. It was scary, information yet heartwarming. Seeing how the real life vaginal spread when we manage to peep at the baby's head, we can all see how much pain the mother is in altho she is having epidural. The mother was told not to push further by the midwife when the head is out, seein cord around the neck, the midwife quickly clip the cord n cut it away. Within seconds, the midwife pull the baby entire body out, and place it on top of the mother. Tears roll down my cheek seeing this scene. It was wonderful. A moment beyond description. So touching that my tears came down uncontrollable.
Leonard turn n look at me, surprise to see that im in tears, he laugh and said that am silly. Other then touching, i felt, the pain of how and what my mother went through her pregnancy, next i just feel terrified of the pain of natural birth, n wanting to opt for c-session. However thoughts change upon the end of the class, im ready for this challenge!
